Now if I didnt fuck wit Entourage, soo hard.. i prollli wuldnt fuck wit Adrian Grenier.. cuz he ususally looks like a dickhead, and Idunno he's nothing like Vinny.. lmao.. but that being said, his one positive attribute is he's a huge eco dude.. One time me and young Ratatouille aka Alex Jacke lol.. saw this nigga whippin a beat up prius.. and yea he was pushin like it wasnt shit.. haha.. soo i fuck wit him for that.. and now hes taking a big step towards gettin people concious about being eco-friendly.. Adrian Grenier is designing an iPhone app to help peopel make eco-friendly shoppign decisions. He is doing thsi in conjunction with ShopySavy(same people that made that app so you could scan the barcode and see if that item is cheaper soemwhere else).. so its lookin like it will be really legit..
And think this app coudl really change the world, cuz now its really only a push away to make better decisions for your enviorment.. You gotta fuck wit that.

Fast Track To Tomorrow

I find people constantly talking about the future, like tomorrow isnt coming.. I mean it might not be promised but the future isnt coming any slower.. Which is why I always try to look to see what new innovations the future willl hold for us, and what we can do take make the future better for not only ourselves but those who will follow us.. That is also why I'm so set on getting everybody on this green-tip, saving energy and doing their part to help the greater gooodd.... All this being said, there is some innovation going down in the AZ... the stomping grounds of my bro GrindTimeTommy.. The state is in the beginning stages of creating a Solar powered bullet-train that would possibly stretch from Chandler, Arizona all the way to Mexico City, of course having various stations in between.. The trip would take about 30 minutes, cause the train will be hitting speeds up to 220 mph...

Prettyyy fucking sick if you ask me.. The greehouse emissions on this will be extremely low if not none.. It will give the people a safe, and fast way to travel across the U.S. and possibly into Mexico(after the War on Drugs). I think these are the kind of innovations that oru future has in store for us, and everyone needs to be prepared to fuck wit it.

NO MORE EXUSES

In this coming century one of the biggest topics is Global warmign and the saving of energy.. et.c.. And though we are all aware of the situation.. its like we know that shit is heading downhill, and we know we gotta fix it.. but there just havent been very many tangible ways that people have put out there for the common man to save energy.. Well now theres no excuse to be ignorant about what alternate resources are available.. The NDCR just released today, the most comon and available forms of renewable energy throughotu the united states.. you can check by state, county, and city.. This is the futue right here.. Its time to look beyond the primitive forms of energy like coal and fossil fuels and start thinking liek thei ntelligent beings we claim to be and start gettin our shit togetther.. soo fuck wit it! check out the site.. here what people who do this for a living have to say..

Today, NRDC is launching a new feature on our website (http://www.nrdc.org/renewables/) and I’d like to know what folks think of it. This new tool is designed to help regular people from farmers to politicians, financiers to reporters understand that renewables are here now and poised to become major players in our energy mix. This site will help you determine whether renewable energy systems such as wind turbines, anaerobic digesters, solar installations and biomass energy facilities make sense for you or your community, and to help you understand how legislation being debated right now could help you adopt one.

The site was designed to show the enormous potential for new energy systems that reduce global warming emissions, protect critical environmental values and move the United States toward energy security. Please check it out. Poke around. Try the maps. And let me know if you think it’s cool or helpful or maybe even inspiring. And then check back in regularly. We’re going to be adding details on more states, more technologies, and more of the critical policies need to stop global warming and build our supply of clean, home-grown renewable energy.

ITS EARTH DAY!

Soo we are in a recession and theres a way to save 465 billion dollars and save the earth.. sound like a good idea.. maybe.. put one in the air n get bak to me.. heres some knowledge.. bless urselves.

A soon-to-be-released study by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) finds that United States can reduce consumer and business energy bills and dramatically cut global warming emissions at the same time. The two-year analysis, “Climate 2030: A National Blueprint for a Clean Energy Economy,” states that U.S. could meet an emissions-reduction cap 56% below 2005 levels by the year 2030, and in that year, consumers and businesses could save $465 billion.

“We have a historic opportunity to reinvent our economy, tackle global warming, and cut energy costs. Setting a limit on heat-trapping emissions would ensure that we make the necessary carbon emission reductions to help avoid the worst consequences of climate change. Combining a carbon cap with strong efficiency, renewable electricity, and transportation standards can deliver those emission cuts and save Americans a substantial amount of money.” - Kevin Knobloch, UCS President

An integrated set of climate, energy and transportation policies would be necessary to meet those goals, says the study, but by doing so, the country would be well on the way to reducing CO2 emissions to a level at least 80% below 2005 levels over the next 40 years.

“Efficiency and renewable energy technologies are ready today to power our economy with carbon-free electricity. Our blueprint shows that these clean energy sources can lead the way in cutting U.S. emissions, while lowering electricity bills and curbing our addiction to dirty, high-carbon coal power.” - Steve Clemmer, research director of UCS’s Clean Energy Program

Most of the net savings on energy bills over the next 20 years would be due to better efficiencies in buildings and industrial processes, a more efficient transportation system, and cleaner cars. The cost of a more efficient transportation system and cleaner cars in 2030 would cost about $35 billion, but drivers would save $120 billion in fuel costs that year.

The full savings won’t take 40 years to realize, as the authors say that by 2020 the U.S. could be meeting an emissions cap of 26% below 2005 levels and the savings for consumers and businesses could be $346 billion that year.

The analysis also found that a more cost-effective solution to climate change than nuclear power and coal plants with carbon capture and storage would be the use of more renewable electricity sources and increased efficiency.

The authors stress the importance of a comprehensive strategy, saying that implementing only part of the measures would drastically reduce the savings.

“We are encouraged that the proposed bill includes a cap-and-trade program, but the other initiatives in it are equally important. If you dropped the energy and transportation policies from our recommendations, for example, the cumulative savings for consumers and businesses over the next two decades would fall from $1.6 trillion to $600 billion.” - Rachel Cleetus, UCS climate economist

The full report will be available in May, but UCS President Kevin Knobloch is testifying about the findings before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce tomorrow. His written testimony with key points of “Climate 2030” and information on energy cost savings by region is available on the UCS website: Testimony of Kevin Knobloch, UCS President, on Climate 2030 Blueprint

Pinky and The Brain.

This artistic piece of machinery was actually someones home.. lol.. Its a Ford 350 ecoline aka Peggy M... I wouldnt fuck with no little as shit liek this.. haha.. cuz its smaller than my rooom now but the story behind it and its enviormental adaption make it pretty sick to the hippy in me... mixing functionality with personality.. a brud look
The story:
It's not exactly expansive, but it is roomy enough that the couple -- and their oversize eyewear -- were able to live in it from June through August of last year as they drove down Highway 1 to Los Angeles and back, selling paintings all the way. Incidentally, Wang and Bodelson don't currently live in the Peggy M -- sleeping in a vehicle is against the law in most cities, and the couple have been hassled about it throughout the state. And in addition to being simply a cool thing to do, the Peggy M is an artistic statement about recycling and green energy (its electric is provided via solar panels). True, the biodiesel van's 15 MPG isn't that impressive. But, then again, that's just about exactly what Mayor Gavin Newsom's hybrid SUV is pulling down -- and the Peggy M has much more character.

Preserve and Contain

So pretty much these are 100% recycled apartment complexs.. built from those shipping containers for large freight on ships and shit.. Its pretty crazy the way people are trying to go green and keep our world going on the shit we already got.. Fuck wit it..

The Facts:
Container homes are popping up all over the place, but not many multi-unit developments have been built from containers. This proposed 200-unit apartment complex, designed by San Francisco-based Group 41 and their brainchild Container Nation, would use nearly 1,000 used shipping containers. The designers have developed two schemes for the Salt Lake City suburb complex and are waiting for planning approval. Two schemes differ in style and layout, but not amenities. Both include a large underground parking garage as well as a courtyard. Located near both a future commuter rail line and shopping center..

We Control Your Sol!

One of the biggest purposes of S.S. Chronicles to get out the constant message that the world is heatign the fuck up and we gotta do something about it.. and it looks like its time for people to really take it seriously. Recently President Obama's advisor of science, JOhn HOldren, had a press release that went a little something like this:

Tinkering with Earth's climate to chill runaway global warming _ a radical idea once dismissed out of hand _ is being discussed by the White House as a potential emergency option.
That's because global warming is happening so rapidly, John Holdren told The Associated Press in his first interview since being confirmed last month.
The concept of using technology to purposely cool the climate is called geoengineering. One option raised by Holdren and proposed by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays.
Using such an experimental measure is only being thought of as a last resort, Holdren said.
"It's got to be looked at," he said. "We don't have the luxury ... of ruling any approach off the table."
His concern is that the United States and other nations won't slow global warming fast enough and that several "tipping points" could be fast approaching. Once such milestones are reached, such as complete loss of summer sea ice in the Arctic, it increases chances of "really intolerable consequences," he said.
Twice in a half-hour interview, Holdren compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog."He and many experts believe that warming of a few degrees more would lead to disastrous drought conditions and food shortages in some regions, rising seas and more powerful coastal loss.

Great Day For Basketball

This has bee na great week, and day for basketball.. It was green week in the NBA, and it looks liek the NBA is really tryna promote enviorment awareness. On top of that MJ, Stockton, and David Robinson, made it to the Hall of Fame today and most importantly I chose the winner of the tourney, NC..

The NBA is really trying to get people on baord with the green-movement.. their site has some good ideas for goign green in your daily life and ways to help your enviorment check that shit out.

NBA GREEN

Jordan. need I say more.

On to Jordan's Alma Mater University of North Carolina. Now I don't know how many people were doubting NC winning this game but if you were fuck outta here! Lawson, Hansborough and Green held it down, Michigan never had a chance from the gates.

The Little Stuff.

It seems in this time of need it would be considered ignroant to be wasteful of almost any resource. But how foolish would it be to be wasteful of both energy and money on a daily basis.. pretty fucking foolish!.. Well. I'm pretty sure at this point in time we are all guilty of this act of foolishness(I for sure am!). Every year power is wasted while computers are sitting idle overnight and one study has finally tried to measure it. The final total came in at an estimated, $2.8 billion wasted on excess energy costs each year in the U.S. alone. And to add to that, On a CO2 basis, that's 20 million tons of carbon dioxide, about the amount produced by 4 million cars on the road.

To give you a small idea, to think of it in most college perspectives. A school with that currently leaves 1,000 computers on overnight, can save $28,000 a year.

All this being said, it should be pretty clear what's next. From today on, try to just turn off your computer at night. It's gunna be hard for all of us.. cuz it takes forever for windows to load, and its such a bitch to put your password in, in the morning.. but hey you'll save money. And we all fuck with that!

Lead By Example

Its starting to look like we got a chance. It seems the most important Agency in our Nation, the Pentagon is planning on seriously decreasign energy use, and going green. The Pentagon is currently the biggest consumer of oil in the U.S., due to the war's that we are apart of in the middle east. Cutting down in energy consumption in the war could help our nations save billions and promote jobs for thousands of small private companies. Take a look at this article it breaks down the situation and all that shiiit..

That Fire Water.

I didn't want to try to put this shit in my own words.. haha.. It's real interesting tho, the world is really getting creative when it comes to finding new energy. Here's an expert from the article I read:

Natural gas locked up in water crystals could be a source of enormous amounts of energy – and if a new technology delivers what scientists are claiming, then it could even be emissions-free too. To the naked eye, clathrate hydrate looks like regular ice. However, while it is made up partly of water, the water molecules are organised into "cages", which trap individual molecules of methane inside them. Compared to other fossil fuels, methane – also known as natural gas – releases less carbon dioxide per unit of energy generated. Nevertheless, burning it still releases carbon dioxide and thus drives climate change. However, according to research presented this week at the national meeting of the American Chemical Society, a new method of extracting the methane could effectively make it a carbon-neutral fossil fuel.

DO SOMETHING WORTHWHILE TODAY!

It seems we only have a week left til' the final stamp goes on to the future of our energy saving tactics in Washignton. I think this is one of the biggest issues we are facing today, outside of the economic crisis, but through self-awareness and action we can overcome. So take a look at ths link, get knowledgable and fuck wit it. Do I gotta convince to want clean air?

What Am I suppose To Do With This?

So your trying to get more eco friendly btu there jsut some shit you don't knwo what to do with, before you just go throwing it out, do some research and see if theres a more eco-friendly way to dispose of it.

Here are some random shit that I'm sure oyou have in your house that you can recycle:

1. Batteries
Environmental, Health and safety Online have initiated a national program called Call2Recycle, which has collected and recycled more than 42 million pounds of rechargeable batteries, and have partnered up with retailers and recycling programs nationwide for our recycling convenience. Visit their site ehso.com to find a location near you.

2. Candle Jars
I’m a jar-candle addict, but who wants to melt out the leftover wax so you can recycle the jar? I found a new trick: Put the used jar in the freezer, and an hour later, you can tap the bottom a few times and pop the wax right out. Better yet, stick to tea lights. As long as the package says that the metal cups are aluminum, you can pull out the used wick and toss the metal in the recycling along with your cans.

3. CDs and DVDs
Mails discs to Back Thru The Future (cdrecyclingforfree.com), a woman-owned electronics recycling and data destruction company.

4. Crayons
In my house, the most unpopular crayon colors are gray and pale yellow. I never thought twice about tossing the duds in the trash, but it turns out that crayon wax spends eternity in a landfill. Instead, put them in a small box and send them to the recycling program run by Crazy Crayons, where your castoffs will be melted down and turned into a new generation of crayons. For details, go to crazycrayons.com.
