There's No Hope.

Our president has pledged to the promise of Hope for a better nation.. but the one palce he see's no hope in, is our current Abstinence Education programs.. These programs made to sway Teens from pre-marital sex, have been considered an utter failure, and will thus be terminated from any further Governmental funding.. I dig it.. I never really listened to that shit.. except for when they did STD's but that didnt stop me, just made me think STD's were disgusting as fuck, and that I wdidnt wasnt gunna get 'em.. lmao.. so I second Obama, on the dismissal of these programs but hopefully this will lead to the development of better programs to help educate the youth about sex, and how to properly protect themselves.

O' Canada

Pro-marijuana activists gathered this afternoon in downtown Vancouver to enjoy some ganja and protest Canada's drug laws, which prohibit smoking the green stuff.
The group hopes to draw the attention of new Liberal party leader Michael Ignatieff when it marches to the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre at 2 p.m. where the Liberal Party of Canada is meeting.65 per cent of British Columbians support legalizing the Maui wowie to curb violence related to the drug trade.
The march is part of a worldwide event dubbed The Global Marijuana March. In Toronto tens of thousands of people have participated in recent years.
While Mexico passed a law this week allowing Mexicans to be in possession of small amounts of the herb, in Canada it is still illegal to be in possession of any amount of reefer.

"Why not make some money off it just like alcohol and tobacco. Funds can go to health care," Douglas said.
In support of marijuana were Green Party members handing out 'End Drug Prohibition' leaflets.
Giving the rally some colour was 'Herb' a larger-than -life marijuana leaf mascot.
"I'm out of the closet," Herb said while blasting his lungs with a joint.

"It's amazing this law still exists," Hunter said.
Also, "we're asking the Liberals to not support Bill C-15," Hunter said.
Bill C-15 is a new set of proposed laws governing criminal activity drafted by Stephen Harper's Conservative government. It would give people minimum sentences for trafficking weed.Hunter said it could mean anyone caught growing just one dope plant could go to jail for at least six months.

Too Much Change?

I am a complete advocate for Obama, and the Obama movement and shit.. but lately I been listening to the news and reading various news publications and it has led me to feel that.. I dont fuck wit a lot of shit that Obama has been doing.. From leaving refugees in Afghan prisons, without any trials slated... to the latest news that jus pushed me over the edge.. the Obama administration is asking the Supreme Court to overrule long-standing law that stops police from initiating questions unless a defendant's lawyer is present, which is now another way the White House is seeking to limit rather than expand rights of oru people.. I dont know.. this kidna shit makes me mad cuz you are promised something, such as increased freedom and reliability in your governmentthus you expect a certain amount of change from the past ways that were restricting our freedoms. But instead all I've been hearing about are how our freedoms are being cut in to.. This isnt the first law that the current administration has tried to force upon us.. They recently asked to make all email and text messaging completely open to the government.. now if you cant see that as a further intrusion on our lives as Americans.. idunno wut to tell you.. dont getm e wrong Obama has made A LOT of steps in the right direction over these past few months.. but it doesnt give him the right to jus do some outlandish shit like this... soo keep your eyes and ears open, know whats going on around you.. at the end of the day the government is always a little crooked.

By Any Means Necessary

Sometime's I understand why people who have nothing and can barely survive, think this nation is out to get them. In recent news, legislators have pushing for a new law that would require all people who wanrt to receive financial help from the government to under-go random drug tests. Now this law isn't new to Washington, but the fact that during these hard times of the Recession and the coming of all these Bailout plans, that they NOW want to start putting forward bill's to enforce this law.. is crazy. Nigga's is jobless, homeless, hungry, dying, FUCKED, and you don't think they are gunna take a puff here and there. HUh? When the only two thing's that are easy to get a hold of in your neighbrohood are drugs and alochol, and not books and education, what do you think the outcome would be? So yea I don't fuck with this shit.. The government is a conspiracy, when my checks are right find me in Greece on some island wit CHOWS. cuz this shit is crazy!

Here's the first page of the article I read:

With states across the country feeling the effects of the economic crisis gripping the land, some legislators are engaging in the cheap politics of resentment as a supposed budget-cutting move. In at least six states, bills have been filed that would require people seeking public assistance and/or unemployment benefits to submit to random drug testing, with their benefits at stake.

In Arizona, Hawaii, Missouri, and Oklahoma, bills have been filed that would force people seeking public assistance to undergo random drug tests and forego benefits if they test positive. In Florida, a bill has been filed to do the same to people who receive unemployment compensation. In West Virginia, both groups are targeted.

In most cases, legislators are pointing to the 1996 federal Welfare Reform Act, which authorized -- but did not require -- random drug testing as a condition of receiving welfare benefits. But a major problem for the proponents of such schemes is that the only state to try to actually implement a random drug testing program got slapped down by the federal courts.

Michigan passed a welfare drug testing law in 1999 that required all Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) applicants to provide urine samples to be considered eligible for assistance. But that program was shut down almost immediately by a restraining order. Three and a half years later, the US 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an earlier district court ruling that the blanket, suspicionless testing of recipients violated the Fourth Amendment's proscription of unreasonable searches and seizures and was thus unconstitutional.

"This ruling should send a message to the rest of the nation that drug testing programs like these are neither an appropriate or effective use of a state's limited resources," said the ACLU Drug Policy Litigation Project head Graham Boyd at the time.

According to the ACLU's now-renamed Drug Law Reform Project, which had intervened in the Michigan case, the other 49 states had rejected drug testing for various reasons. At least 21 states concluded that the program "may be unlawful," 17 states cited cost concerns, 11 gave a variety of practical or operational reasons, and 11 said they had not seriously considered drug testing at all (some states cited more than one reason).

Random drug testing of welfare recipients has also been rejected by a broad cross-section of organizations concerned with public health, welfare rights, and drug reform, including the American Public Health Association, National Association of Social Workers, Inc., National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, National Health Law Project, National Association on Alcohol, Drugs and Disability, Inc., National Advocates for Pregnant Women, National Black Women's Health Project, Legal Action Center, National Welfare Rights Union, Youth Law Center, Juvenile Law Center, and National Coalition for Child Protection Reform.
